M4 MultiMedia Mobility Manager presented at MUM2007
The prototype software implementing mobility management in heterogeneous networking environments, M4 MultiMedia Mobility Manager, was recently presented to the research community. On Wednesday December 13, Mr. Karl Andersson presented the article "M4: MultiMedia Mobility Manager-a Seamless Mobility Management Architecture Supporting Multimedia Applications" at the 6th International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Multimedia (MUM 2007) held in Oulu, Finland.
The M4 prototype runs on Windows XP and has support for any IP compliant radio access network. The article covers an evaluation of the proposed architecture and the implementation of M4 where VoIP and file downloads are tested in a heterogeneous networking environment composed of CDMA2000 and WLAN. NetAlly was used for evaluation of user-percieved quality of service in the VoIP application study.
